Following a horrible loss to the Florida Panthers, Leafs head coach Craig Berube reflected on what he believes went wrong for the Maple Leafs in yet another torturous Game 7 defeat in the playoffs.

Although there were many positives to take from his first season behind the bench, not many people are going to think about the division title they won or even the fact that they won 3 games in the second round compared to the 1 they had won over the previous 20 years.
The Leafs never really stood a chance once the puck was dropped as the Panthers quickly ambushed them. They righted the ship before the first period had come to a close, but Florida took the game away in the second and cruised to a 6-1 win.
After the final horn sounded and all the players shook hands, Berube reflected on the outcome and simply articulated what he felt was the root cause of the loss.
"We just didn't handle the pressure that they came with... Wasn't good enough."
Berube later added that he doesn't think the situation was too big for his team and that the lights weren't too bright for the Leafs. He just felt that it came down to the basics of the game, the X's and O's and how they weren't able to execute the simple plays.
"For me, it's all between the ears. It's a mindset. These guys are capable of doing it, you've just got to execute, and we didn't execute."

He's not necessarily wrong in his statement, because the Leafs weren't even able to dump and chase properly, let alone enter the zone with speed, but that's still probably not what Leafs Nation wants to hear from their bench boss after a humiliating performance like that on home ice.
Toronto will now have to shift their attention towards the off-season and what they're going to do with their pending free agents.
Meanwhile, Berube can hang his head knowing he did a good job from start to finish. The same can't be said about the players, and their future with the team is now on thin ice.
