"While Leafs' fans are waiting to see what will happen between restricted free agent William Nylander and the Toronto Maple Leafs, there's also another contract that might get signed. Nylander isn't eligible for arbitration so there's no need to rush the negotiations, however there could be need to rush another. 21 year old Leafs' prospect, Martins Dzierkals is without a contract and has an option to head over to Dinamo Riga of the KHL. The forward would rather sign with Toronto to play in the AHL according to Aivis Kalnins, and there could be a roster spot available for him. The winger played 51 games in the ECHL last year for the Orlando Solar Bears registering 36 points and was able to suit up for 4 games with the Marlies however failed to register a point. Dzierkals was the leafs 2015 third round pick.
