Anthony Stolarz's injury has become a very big concern for the Maple Leafs after they mis-diagnosed him and it now may force the Leafs to acquire another goalie

Anthony Stolarz suffered an injury two weeks ago, and while the club was hopeful for short-term, the latest update hints they may need to acquire another goalie.

When Dennis Hildeby replaced Anthony Stolarz to begin the second period against the Boston Bruins on November 11th, many thought Stolarz was pulled for giving up 3 goals on 11 shots in the first frame.
The Leafs later confirmed that he had suffered an injury, and that that was the reason for the change in net.

Stolarz yet to take to the ice; worse than expected according to Berube

Stolarz has yet to take to the ice since his injury, with head coach Craig Berube revealing last week that his injury was worse than initially thought.
Once again on Monday, Stolarz remained off the ice, and following practice the Leafs' head coach noted that he was still 'ways away' from returning.

Will the Leafs be forced to acquire another goaltender?

While Joseph Woll was away from the team for personal reasons, the Leafs leaned heavily on Stolarz, having him start 13 of the team's first 16 games.
His numbers took a severe dip, as did the Leafs' defensive play, with Craig Berube admitting that the former second-round pick was overworked.
Let's hope the Leafs and Berube have learned from leaning too heavily on Stolarz in Woll's absence and don't do the same thing to Woll.
Whether that means Hildeby getting more starts or the team goes out and acquires another goaltender, the Leafs need to do something here. They clearly did not have much faith in Cayden Primeau, so re-acquiring the former Canadiens netminder is probably not the play.
Hildeby has played well in his few starts, but the Swedish goaltender spends most of his time sitting on the bench instead of getting into consistent game action. Is it time to give him a proper look? It might be.
Once the Leafs get more clarity on Stolarz's injury, we could very well see GM Brad Treliving make a decision. Either way, the team needs some support for Woll.

Should the Leafs get a third goalie to back up Joseph Woll and give Hildeby starts with the Marlies?
