The Toronto Maple Leafs added lots of depth upfront during the offseason but general manager Kyle Dubas didn't do much regarding the blueline. They were attached to a couple of names that have moved on but continued to be linked to one specific Toronto born dman. Various reports have had the Leafs' linked to New Jersey Devils' defenseman PK Subban. Subban is in the final year of his monster deal that carries an AAV of $9million. Any sort of Subban trade would obviously involve some salary being retained and some salary going back to the Devils. Subban would give the team some night depth on the right side and some help on the power play. Dubas was recently asked about the rumours. "I can definitively say that we have not thought a single thing about any player that's going to be a free agent a year from now."Sounds more like he's talking about the possibility of signing him next offseason rather than addressing any trade speculation.
