MLSE CEO Keith Pelley was very bold about his expectations for the Maple Leafs this season, adding pressure to Craig Berube and Brad Treliving to deliver results.

When Keith Pelley met with the Toronto media for the first time in May of last year, he made it very clear he had one goal when he took over the Leafs.
"The fans here not only deserve but demand a championship. There's no complacency. We're not here to sell jerseys," remarked Pelley

Fast forward to May of this year and Pelley made his first major move to shake up the Leafs' management group, firing Brendan Shanahan. In doing so, he provided a very strong vote of confidence to Leafs head coach Craig Berube and General Manager Brad Treliving.
With that vote of confidence, Treliving delivered on his promise of big changes, almost completely revamping the forward group and locking up key players for the foreseeable future.

The President and CEO of MLSE spoke with The Athletic while in New York for the annual Board of Governors meetings yesterday, where he delivered a passionate answer to Pierre LeBrun when asked about the club's urgency this year.
"It's go time now," stated Pelley in regards to the Leafs' potential for a major deadline addition

If there wasn't enough pressure on Berube and Treliving from the fan base, there certainly is plenty now that Pelley has weighed in.
It stating it was the Leafs' year to go all in, Pelley doubled-down on his confidence in Berube and Treliving to get the job done.
"You know the age of this team. It's go time. And I think we have two leaders, in Brad and Chief, to hopefully take us to the promised land."

Although Pelley largely remains out of the spotlight for the Leafs, he has been more than willing to speak when asked and is doing everything he can to live up to the promise he made fans in May 2024.
