As we approach the March 8th trade deadline, everyone knows that the Leafs' number one trade target has been Calgary's Chris Tanev right from the get-go. However, that doesn't mean that he's their only target.
The Leafs have a variety of needs as we approach March 8th and while names like Tanev, Hanifin and Chychrun will continue to come up, there are a handful of other players who have recently been linked to the Leafs by NHL Insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.
Per Pagnotta, in his most recent Trade Watch List article, the Leafs are now being linked to the likes of Anthony Duclair (SJ), Colton Parayko (STL), Jordan Eberle (SEA), Joel Edmundson (WSH). In addition, Pagnotta also believes that the Leafs have checked in on a few names that we've heard about earlier in the year, including a trio of Philadelphia Flyers in Scott Laughton, Sean Walker and Rasmus Ristolainen, as well as former Leaf Ilya Lyubushkin (ANA) and David Savard (MTL).
Last week, we heard TSN's Pierre LeBrun and Mike Johnson confirm that the Leafs' problems are not solved by bringing in just one piece. LeBrun suggested that the Leafs were two defensemen and a top-9 forward away from being a true contender, so there may be multiple players on this list that the Leafs will look to add before March 8th.
