"The Toronto Maple Leafs' biggest knock this offseason was there was still too many question marks regarding the defense. General manager Kyle Dubas added Cody Ceci and Tyson Barrie through trade, but many believed that wasn't enough. Fast forward to the season and the Leafs have given up 16 goals in their last three games, but according to head coach Mike Babcock the defense looks great. "Our defensive numbers are real good so far this season. We're happy with that. Last night we weren't good enough. We made some mistakes & it ended up in our net, but we gave up chances like we don't normally give up."
The Leafs have given up a total of 20 goals in five games with their only true defensively sound game coming in Columbus when they gave up just one goal. What do you think of Babcock's comments?
