The Toronto Maple Leafs announced their roster to start the season and it didn't include restricted free agent William Nylander. The forward has yet to sign a contract and with the season starting on Wednesday, the longer the hold out lasts, the bigger the questions regarding his conditioning become. Auston Matthews hasn't had Nylander by his side and has been skating with Patrick Marleau and Tyler Ennis. Head coach Mike Babcock was asked if there will be any rust when Nylander eventually comes back, and Babcock's tone wasn't too positive. "I don't know. Matty has been here working every day and the guys that have been working here every day are ahead of the guys that aren't here working every day. That is just part of the business. We all understand that. It is hard to manufacture the intensity we had today when you're not here. It just doesn't work like that."Looks like when Nylander eventually comes back, he won't jump right back on Matthews' wing.
