There's nothing like some good news to kick off a Tuesday in Leafs Nation! Per Toronto Marlies head coach Greg Moore, top Leafs prospect Nicholas Robertson is "likely" to return to action on Wednesday after missing several months with a broken fibula.

Robertson has been limited to just two games for Marlies this season, registering 2 assists prior to his injury back in October. The 20-year-old has had some poor luck when it comes to injuries in his young pro career, so hopefully he'll be able to remain healthy throughout the second half of the AHL season.

These are important developmental years for Robertson and the injuries that he has suffered since turning pro in 2020 have been significant and there is some concern over how much his missed time has impacted his overall development. A strong second half for Robertson could go a long way in silencing the critics who may question his durability.

Robertson was drafted by th Leafs in the 2nd round, 53rd overall, back in 2019. He was one of the youngest players in the draft, and at just 5'9", he was also one of the smallest. Still, Robertson's size did not prevent him from scoring 55 goals and 86 points in 46 games for the OHL's Peterborough Petes in his final Junior year in 2019-20.

The California native has the proper work ethic and attitude to have a very successful NHL career, provided he can remain healthy.
