Leafs GM Kyle Dubas spoke with the media on Monday at the team's season-ending press conference, but could not give any details about his plans for his immediate future, or the team's plans for his immediate future. However, that didn't stop him from concluding a nice little piece of business on Monday afternoon.

Per an official announcement from the team, the Leafs have officially signed 20-year-old goaltender Vyacheslav Peksa to his entry-level contract. Peksa was a standout last year in the MHL for Irbis Kazan, before earning a long look as the primary starter for Bars Kazan this year in the VHL (the Russian equivalent to the AHL).

In 40 starts this season with Bars Kazan in the VHL, Peksa posted a 13-19-6 record, which doesn't exactly seem like anything special. However, his peripheral numbers were quite good. Peksa recorded a .921 SV% and a 2.34 GAA in 40 appearances this season.

Per the official announcement, Peksa's deal will begin in the 2023-24 season and will carry an annual average value (AAV) of a little over $851K. Peksa was the Leafs' 6th round pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
