Maple Leafs top prospect Easton Cowan, was named playoff MVP after leading his London Knights to an OHL championship thanks to another next level performance.

Along with the Red Tilson Award; the trophy for the Ontario Hockey League regular-season MVP, the Maple Leafs' top draft pick in 2023 has added an OHL Championship, and OHL Playoff MVP to his trophy case. Mitch Marner won all these awards in 2016.

Easton Cowan dropped four points (three goals and an assist) in London's commanding 7-1 win to sweep the Oshawa Generals in the OHL Finals.

Cowan registered 15 points in the four game series against Oshawa, and 34 points in 18 games throughout the playoffs. This, following a 96-point campaign in 54 regular season games this season.

We can also add a 36-game regular season point streak to the discussion, which is a better total than Connor Bedard, and 3rd behind only Alexander Radulov and Sidney Crosby in CHL history.

The pick Toronto chose Cowan with was acquired in the Rasmus Sandin trade before the 2022-23 deadline - a pick that originally belonged to the Boston Bruins.

Cowan's season is not finished just yet. His London Knights will open up their Memorial Cup quest on May 25th against the QMJHL Champion Drummondville Voltiguers.
