I'm not sure that Michael Bunting and Jack Campbell could be more opposite. Bunting is a feisty winger who exudes confidence and thrives in chaos and Campbell is a calm, cool, collected goaltender who is very mild-mannered and polite.
While the two Leafs are very different, they are loved just the same by the guys in the locker room. We've seen plenty of post game interviews where members of this Leafs team are quick to acknowledge and promote the work of the guy, ahead, behind or beside them - Bunting and especially Campbell included.
Following Sunday's win against the New York Islanders, when the 3 stars of the game were selected, both Campbell and Bunting found themselves among the names included. How did they react? Well, as you can imagine, their reactions were polar opposites.
The Leafs are enjoying a much deserved day off on Monday after a back-to-back with travel against the Sens and the Islanders on Saturday and Sunday. The boys are back at it on Tuesday, hosting the Philadelphia Flyers at Scotiabank Arena. Hopefully Soup and Bunts can pick up right where they left off on Sunday.
