Analyst absolutely destroys Kyle Dubas in lengthy rant following his dismissal from Toronto

With what Brendan Shanahan said in his press conference on Friday about dismissing Kyle Dubas as the GM of the Leafs, it appears that negotiations fell apart following a last minute counter offer from Dubas and his agent. One that Shanahan did not feel was worth a counter offer or worth trying to salvage.

Once the news broke, the Toronto media had a field day with it and one of the most heated was Nick Kypreos who blasted Kyle Dubas on his Sportsnet show "Real Kyper and Bourne".

"I don't understand Kyle, from the moment he decided to go against Brendan's advice to not speak on Monday. It was the thought to end it on the thought 'I might not be coming back because of family reasons'. The guy stuck his neck out for you 9 years ago and you wanna go out on Monday and surprise him saying you might not be back and play the family card? That alone is a slap in the face to the guy that took a chance on you. Shanahan should not find out at the same time as Joe Shmoe at the Tim Horton's why couldn't you have told Brendan that behind closed doors?" said Kypreos in a lengthy 2 minute rant.

He then continued on saying, "Nobody asked you to put your family out there. By the middle of the week you're saying they're okay but here's a new package with new numbers that'll make me and my wife and kids feel a lot better. What're we supposed to think? You used them as pawns. It's Willy Wonka, you got the golden ticket when you're 28 years old - and now at 37 - you're going to play hardball with a multi-billion dollar company... for what? An extra million or two?"


Kypreos was very heated the entire discussion and was almost yelling into his microphone at certain points. He did make a few very good observations though in that it was wrong for Dubas to make that announcement publicly instead of telling Shanahan behind closed doors and that using his family as a bargaining chip was wrong.
