Anyone who has been around the game long enough knows that there are certain traditions in hockey that you just don't break. Unfortunately for former UFC Champ, Conor McGregor, he hasn't been around the game long enough to understand one unwritten rule.
A few seasons back, the Bruins had welcomed McGregor to TD Garden in Boston to give the team a pep-talk ahead of a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Unfortunately, nobody told McGregor before walking into the dressing room before puck drop that it was disrespectful to walk across the logo on the floor. Not only did McGregor walk across the logo, he trampled all over it during his pre-game speech.
Naturally, I don't think anyone was in any rush to raise the issue with a UFC Champion, not even the team's captain at the time, hulking defenseman Zdeno Chara. Of course, with McGregor being one of the world's biggest stars at that time, maybe the rules simply didn't apply to him.
