At the end of Game 5 between the Rangers and Lightning, things weren't just heated on the ice. They were also heated between Rangers and Lightning fans in attendance.
A video went viral of a Lightning fan being sucker punched and knocked unconscious following the Bolts' 3-1 over the Rangers in Game 5 in enemy territory. The assailant was later arrested after assaulting another fan who tried to apprehend him.
Things weren't all bad for the Lightning fan who was struck and knocked out by the unruly Rangers fan. He just posted a text exchange between himself and Lightning CEO Steve Griggs.
Griggs showed a lot of class by reaching out and asking if there's anything he can do to support him. The Lightning fan responded in kind, saying that all he really wanted was for the Bolts to go out and win Game 6. Griggs responded with an enthusaistic "Hell yeah!!" and also offered to send the fan some free Lightning swag.
Game 6 is set to take place this evening with an 8 PM (ET) puck drop in Tampa Bay, where the Lightning will look to close out the series and advance to their third straight Stanley Cup Final.
