Winnipeg Jets forward Vlad Namestnikov was forced out of Sunday's Game 4 against Colorado following a scary incident.

Midway through the third period of Game 4 between the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets, Namestnikov attempted to get out of the way a Nate Schmidt slapshot off of a faceoff in the Avalanche zone. Unfortunately, as he jumped to avoid the puck, it deflected off of his own stick and hit him right in the face.

Namestnikov went down immediately and laid motionless for a few moments as trainers tended to him to attempt to stop some of the blood leaking out with towels. As he got up, viewers saw his jersey dyed red from the blood loss. He was helped to the Avalanche bench and down the tunnel to use the Avalanche's medical team to help tend to his injuries.

Given the amount of blood, I'd imagine it would be highly unlikely that he returns for the series, but hockey players have the ability to do some crazy things. Hopefully there is no severe damage to his eye because of the shot.
