Toffoli (UFA) has bounced around a bit in his career, but there's no denying that he would be an incredible fit on the Leafs, as it would take some of the pressure off of Auston Matthews in the goal scoring department.
Scoring outside of the Core 4 has been a constant problem for this Leafs team. Time and time again, when their star players fail to produce, it feels almost impossible to pull out a win because they can't seem to get much secondary scoring.
Not only is Tyler Toffoli a hometown kid as he was born in Scarborough, Ontario, but he has already been linked to Leafs GM Brad Treliving in the past as Treliving acquired the skilled winger when he was with Calgary.
Another thing to consider is that a lot of UFAs seem to steer clear of Canada because of the constant media attention. Not Toffoli, though, as he has already suited up for 4 Canadian teams in his career (Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Winnipeg), so he is no stranger to the spotlight.
