The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without defenseman Mark Giordano tonight and likely for the next little while following his collision with the boards early in Thursday's game. Head coach Sheldon Keefe was unsure of the extent of his injury, but reports have indicated that Giordano has a concussion.
With Giordano out, newly acquired Ilya Lyubushkin will make his Leafs debut tonight alongside Morgan Rielly on the Leafs' top pair. Additionally, Timothy Liljegren looks to be returning to action after missing the last two games with an undisclosed injury. Keefe noted that Liljegren will be a "game-time decision", but Liljegren himself said this morning that he feels great ahead of tonight's game.
Another bit of good news for the Leafs has Calle Jarnkrok also returning to the lineup tonight after missing the last 13 games with a broken knuckle. To make room for Jarnkrok, rookie Nick Robertson will be a healthy scratch, meaning Jarnkrok will line up with Bobby McMann and John Tavares on the Leafs third line.
