Report: Leafs In Bidding War To Land Bogosian.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs registered another embarrassing loss last night, this time on home ice at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes. While we all know the storyline from last night, the losses have become absolutely brutal regardless of who the other goalie was. The Leafs' gave up another six goals and the defense looks almost non existent. What could general manager Kyle Dubas' solution be?Sign Zach Bogosian apparently. According to both Darren Dreger and Pierre LeBrun, the Leafs are currently one of the teams trying to sign the defenseman before Monday. It's hard to see how Bogosian could be anymore of an upgrade over Cody Ceci. What do you think of the idea of adding Bogosian to the Leafs' blueline?

Assuming Bogosian clears unconditional waivers today, I expect he will wait until Monday to decide where he wants to play for the remainder of the season. Toronto, Pittsburgh, Carolina and Winnipeg are among the strong contenders.

In the meantime, given the long term injury to Pesce, Carolina certainly hopes Bogosian signs with them but as @DarrenDreger noted yesterday, lots of competing offers including from Toronto
