"Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas will be working hard this summer to try and get himself some salary cap space. Dubas needs to sign Mitch Marner and Kasperi Kapanen while also adding some help on the blueline. With Nikita Zaitsev having demanded a trade yesterday, it sounds like Dubas might be working on another solution. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Leafs and Los Angeles Kings are exploring a possible trade that would send Marleau back to the west coast. Marleau of course has ties with new Kings head coach Todd McLellan.What's difficult though about either a Marleau or Zaitsev trade is that the Leafs would definitely have to take on a contract back somehow. It'll be an interesting story to follow over the next couple of weeks.
