The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas have started their salary cap clearance. They already moved Kasperi Kapanen and all indications point to the Leafs making a lot more moves. We've heard that there's strong possibility that Alexander Kerfoot and Andreas Johnsson are more than likely gone too which would free up some more space. Rumblings are getting stronger that Dubas will do everything he can to go out and land Alex Pietrangelo during free agency. Dubas is not shy about handing out heavy contracts for guys he really likes and the GM looks like he's ready to hand one out to Pietrangelo. Luke Fox of Sportsnet suggests that the Leafs have made landing the right shot defenseman their top priority this offseason even if it comes with a $8-10million per season price tag. The St. Louis Blues simply don't have the space to keep Pietrangelo at that price and that's why they handed out contracts to Justin Faulk and Marco Scandella before even making an offer to Pietrangelo. Are you willing to hand out a massive seven year deal to Pietrangelo?
