"The NHL announced the rosters for the 2019 All-Star game on Wednesday and to the disappointment of many Leafs' fans it didn't include certain guys. While Auston Matthews was voted in as captain of the Atlantic Division team, the league decided to send John Tavares to San Jose while both Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly were left off the roster. With Rielly arguably the top defenseman in the league this year and Marner sitting fourth overall in the league for assists and sixth overall for scoring, Leafs' fans can definitely say they were both snubbed. Well, Leafs' fans aren't the only ones who feel those guys were snubbed as Chicago Blackhawks sniper Patrick Kane came to their defense. Kane told Mark Lazerus of The Athletic that the league should stop worrying about having guys from every team there and singled out specifically both Marner and Rielly as guys who should be at the All-Star game.
Patrick Kane suggested the NHL stop worrying about having every team represented in the All-Star Game. Mentioned Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly as guys who deserve to be there. — Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) January 3, 2019
