With Max Domi having missed most of training camp due to a lower-body injury, the Maple Leafs have revealed when the veteran could see his first bit of game action.

Things haven't gone so smooth for the Toronto Maple Leafs since training camp opened up, with goaltender Joseph Woll granted a leave of absence to tend to a family matter, and Max Domi and Simon Benoit dealing with injuries.
However, there's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel, at least when it comes to Domi's health status, with the Leafs revealing that they hope to see the veteran forward play in Saturday's pre-season game against Montreal.
Domi was unable to practice with the main group when camp opened due to a lower-body injury as he was seen on the side working with the development staff before the main groups.
Additionally, he missed the first 3 pre-season games against Ottawa and Montreal, however, he seems to be trending in the right direction for this weekend's contest.
Head coach Craig Berube hinted earlier this summer that Domi should start the season on the top line with Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies, making his return to the lineup that much more important.
Domi was seen skating on the top line on Thursday, which bodes well for his chances of suiting up on Saturday.
If he were to miss out for a fourth straight game, Domi's next chance to suit up would be for next Thursday's game against Detroit, which would be the penultimate contest of their pre-season schedule.
Once fully healthy, Domi will be looking to bounce-back after scoring just 8 goals and 33 points in 74 games last year, which was a drop off of 14 points from his totals in 2023-24.
With a chance to start the season alongside Matthews and Knies, Domi should be amped up. However, getting 100% healthy is of the utmost importance before the regular season opens up on the 8th of October.
