"The NHL isn't too happy with the Toronto Maple Leafs lately. This week the team was given a warning regarding using referees and linesmen during training camp and the NHL shut that down. Now the team has had another one of their activities stopped because of other teams complaining. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports that teams saw how the Maple Leafs were bringing in prospects and players during the offseason to work out at team facilities and other teams launched an official complaint. "Toronto was a team that, a lot of their prospects, or a number of them, would come to Toronto in the summer and they'd work out at the practice facility and they really improved as players. And teams were like we don't like that."
A little unfair for the Leafs as this isn't exactly like the Arizona Coyotes bringing in young prospects ahead of the NHL Draft Combine. This is just the Leafs letting players already under contract use the facilities during the offseason. In any case, it doesn't really matter anymore as the NHL has shut it down.
