The Toronto Maple Leafs lost to the Buffalo Sabres this afternoon 6-4, ending their win streak at three games. Unfortunately after looking good during a brief AHL stint, Michael Hutchinson didn't look good at all today. However the decision to start Hutchinson wasn't what was on head coach Sheldon Keefe's mind after the game, it was the fact he feels he overused Auston Matthews. Matthews played a career high 24:48 against the Sabres and Keefe feels it kind of backfired. "I played him a lot early in the game. That might have hurt us when we're now playing from behind in the second half. We couldn't use our bench the way we would have liked to and we have when we've had leads in other games" Matthews enjoyed the ice time and admitted to making some mistakes. "I want to be out there, I feel like I can be a difference out there. We had our chances, couldn't capitalize on them. And then a couple bad plays by myself and our line out there and it cost us some goals against."
