John Tavares Sets New Franchise Record.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs made the big free agent splash last year when they signed John Tavares long term. JT has lived up to every expectation so far this season and has set a new franchise record while doing it. Thanks to his four goal game last night, Tavares now has 45 goals, the most ever by a player in his first year with the Leafs. He also became the first Leaf in 25 years to score 42 goals in a season and became the eighth player in franchise history to record multiple hat tricks in his first season with the team. Absolutely amazing!
