The Maple Leafs lack draft capital after years of deadline day trades, but The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta has revealed how they intend to replenish some of it.

Leafs GM Brad Treliving has been attempting to offload their contracts all summer, but it has been more difficult than expected, thanks to teams having significantly more cap space and being able to keep most of their own players. However, as training camp winds down, teams are beginning to notice where they have needs that should be addressed.
Along with Kampf and Jarnkrok, Treliving has unsuccessfully tried to move Nicholas Robertson, even after avoiding arbitration with a one-year deal.
However, the San Jose Sharks have recently expressed interest in the 23-year-old, and the Vancouver Canucks could look to acquire him or Jarnkrok to replace the injured Nils Hoglander.

Leafs Looking to Replenish Draft Capital

According to The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta, the Leafs are not asking for much in return for any of the aforementioned forwards. Treliving and the Leafs are simply looking to restock some of their draft capital.
Whether that is to make a larger move or an attempt to replenish the prospect pool remains to be seen, but as of now, the Leafs are looking to free up roster and cap space.
As the final week of training camp is quickly coming to a close, it would not be a surprise to see the Leafs pull off at least one trade before opening night on October 7th.
