"The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas have lots of work ahead of them this summer. Dubas and management of course have to decide if they want to let Tomas Plekanec, Tyler Bozak, Leo Komarov, Dominic Moore, James van Riemsdyk and Roman Polak walk to free agency. The team also has to lock up restricted free agents William Nylander, Connor Carrick, Frederik Gauthier, Andreas Johnsson and Martin Marincin. Toronto only has 16 players under contract on their NHL roster right and only 35 players signed to standard player contracts throughout the organization.Luckily Dubas just got a little help as multiple reports indicate that the 2018-19 NHL salary cap will jump up to $80million next season, that means Dubas will have an extra $5million to play with. It's great news for Dubas as he's going to have to make plenty of decisions this summer.
