"The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at Scotia Bank Arena. They'll get a boost as Frederik Andersen returns to the lineup and will start the game between the pipes. Hopefully he's close to 100% because earlier in the week Andersen stated that he wasn't sure he'd be able to start Thursday's game. Auston Matthews gets another chance to climb up the NHL history books as he'll look to become the third player in NHL history with eight consecutive multipoint games to start the season. The Penguins have a banged up goalie returning themselves as Matt Murray will start the game after suffering a concussion on October 8th. Former Leaf Phil Kessel has six points during a three game point streak and registered a hat trick on October 11th against Vegas. The Leafs will need a full effort for tonight's test against a hungry Penguins team that sits at 2-1-2 on the season. "You have to be prepared or else they'll make you pay. They've got so much speed, so much skill, some special players, that if you take a shift off or a period off they're going to put a couple in your net." Matthews told reporters.
