The Maple Leafs have not yet moved on from playoff elimination at the Florida Panthers and a fan favourite's recent comments show persistent frustration and an inability to move past it just yet.

Months have elapsed since the Toronto Maple Leafs were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the eventual back-to-back champs, the Florida Panthers, and still, some members of the team are not quite ready to move on.
While the Leafs have undergone quite the transformation this summer following the departure of Mitch Marner and the arrivals of Matias Maccelli, Dakota Joshua, Nicolas Roy and more, most of the original nucleus remains intact.
Max Domi, who had the misfortune of enduring heartbreaking eliminations in back-to-back seasons, was recently a guest on the Roz and Mocha Podcast, and not only did he touch on whether or not he'd like to remain a Maple Leaf moving forward, but he also touched on not being able to turn the page on the loss just yet.
"Absolutely not. I won't be over that yet until we play game 1 of next year, because then, at that point, you have to turn the page. I'm a happy guy, obviously when I go on the ice it's a little bit different. I'm sure it's like, 'ah, he doesn't look very happy', but it was a tough ending and obviously seeing who won and how they won makes it sting a little more. It just shows how close we were, but we are right there and we've got a special group. I'm looking forward to getting back after it with a great group of guys and an awesome coaching staff, so it's fun, man. We've taken a huge step this year -- I know it doesn't feel like it, but we have, and we're chomping at the bit to get going next year."

Domi's name has been tossed around a bit in the rumour mill as the Leafs look to create some salary cap space to allow them to bring in a top-6 forward, but moving the 2nd generation NHLer does not appear to be the Leafs' top priority. The belief is that they'd rather move Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf, which would open up a combined $4.5M -- much more than Domi's $3.75M cap hit.
