"The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas look like they're go to clean house a bit this summer. Forward Patrick Marleau and Nazem Kadri along with defenseman Nikita Zaitsev all sound like they'll be moved this summer as Dubas tries to clear cap space to sign Mitch Marner and Kasperi Kapanen along with strengthening the Leafs' blue line. While a trade involving Marleau or Zaitsev might be complicated, Kadri shouldn't be hard to move at all. The 28 year old is signed for three more years at a very friendly $4.5million. Kadri might have lost some popularity with Leafs' fans and management for being suspended two years in a row during the playoffs, however his value across the league as a two way forward is still high. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports that there's some strong interest in Kadri right now, especially coming from Western Canada. «I think there's a lot of teams looking at Kadri. I don't know if Toronto's going to do it, but there's a lot of interest in Kadri», said Friedman.
«Now because of what happened in the playoffs, there's that. But there's one thing I know and that's Mike Babcock he loves centres,» he continued.» They're pretty thin at centre if they trade him and don't get one back.«
«Which teams would be the warmest there,» asked Marek.
«I could see everybody in Western Canada being in on that,» said Friedman. To which Marek replied, «I could see Edmonton being in on that, I could see Calgary being in on that, I could see Vancouver being in on that. I could see all them.»Do you think any of these teams could provide Toronto with a fair return? Calgary does standout as having a surplus on the blueline.
