Babcock Explains Why He Always Plays Andersen In The First Game Of Back To Backs.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs have a very busy week as they'll play two sets of back to back games. With Columbus in town tonight, the Leafs will then head to Boston tomorrow to take on the Bruins and then host the San Jose Sharks on Friday before playing the Canadiens in Montreal on Saturday. Leafs' head coach Mike Babcock has a tradition of playing Frederik Andersen in the first of back to back games regardless of who the opponents are. It looks like that will happen this week, despite both the second games of the back to backs being against division opponents. Babcock explained his theory behind always starting Andersen first. "Imagine if you lose game one & then went to game two tired ... the investment makes no sense to me"
So here we are with Michael Hutchinson set to play against the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens.
