For the Toronto Maple Leafs, Max Pacioretty served as that steady veteran presence during their postseason run as well. However, the Leafs may face some stiff competition and may not be able to retain him. As per Nick Alberga on X:
There's no telling how Pacioretty's health will hold up moving forward, especially after several seasons with a litany of health issues, so if the Leafs do want to bring Pacioretty back, the deal will have to be a buriable amount. Otherwise, it might make more sense to simply step aside and allow the veteran to ink a deal a little closer to home.
