Ottawa Senators cornerstone Tim Stutzle is earning quite the reputation for himself, but unfortunately, it may not be for the right reasons. While Stutzle is a high-skill player who has a very bright future, he has, on more than one occasion, been viewed as a bit of a diver.
By now, everyone's heard what Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher had to say about Stutzle, and the veteran forward is none too pleased with the youngster. But on Saturday, Leafs fans got a close up look at exactly what Gallagher and Habs fans had been complaining about.
Those were just 3 of the examples of how Stutzle is conducting himself anytime contact is made. While drawing penalties is an important part of the game, doing so dishonestly shows a definite lack of integrity.
Stutzle actually had to turn off comments on his Instagram because other users were lighting him up for embellishment. If he's earning this type of a reputation amongst NHL fans, it's only a matter of time before the officials start to notice his actions as well.
It's actually a shame, because Stutzle is actually an electric young player who is otherwise worth watching. But when you see the penchant for embellishment, it makes it really difficult to enjoy the other aspects of his game. Just my opinion.
