This past week, Paul Bissonnette made waves on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast when he predicted back-to-back Stanley Cups for the Toronto Maple Leafs. On Sunday, "Biz Nasty" doubled down on those comments, letting it be known that he has a ton of confidence in this Leafs team and in Matt Murray in particular.

"Am I overwhelmed with the moves [Kyle Dubas] made at the deadline? No, but [now] he risked it on bringing in a guy that he's comfortable with that he thinks is training and has a mind frame in which he's going to come back and get back to exactly where he was when he was a back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I am all-in on Dubas. I'm pushing my chips in - I said it a couple podcasts ago. I think they're going to win back-to-back Cups. I don't give a F*** who thinks I'm crazy about this... screw you, at least I have a f***ing opinion on it. I like the move and I think that Murray is going to get back to exactly where he was and I'm happy with what they did in free agency."

It's not difficult to see why Biz has been taking so much heat for declaring publicly that he believes the Leafs will win the next two Stanley Cups, especially since the Buds have been bounced in the first round in six consecutive postseasons. But, sooner or later, the dam is going to break and the flood gates are going to open and the Leafs are going to go on a run. This core is too good not to succeed, so why not this year?

Kudos to Biz for speaking his mind and doubling down on his opinion and sticking to his guns despite it very clearly not being the most popular opinion. I don't know whether I agree with the fact that they'll win the next two Cups, but I like their odds of being a very dangerous team this year, and I like Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov's chances of forming a very good duo for the Leafs this season.
