Every summer, teams undergo significant transformations. Sometimes, it's a core player moving on, and sometimes it's the supporting cast, as we're seeing with this year's Leafs. But, the changes aren't always limited to on-ice changes, as we saw this summer, when Kyle Dubas was let go and Brad Treliving was brought in.
While not instrumental in the performance of the team, a broadcasting team, a play-by-play announcer or even a team's PA Announcer still fills an important role for fans. Thankfully, for Leaf fans, a familiar face/voice will be back with the team next season after signing his new contract on Tuesday.
Mike Ross, the team's PA Announcer for the last 7 seasons, had his contract renewed on Tuesday and will be back behind the mic for his 8th season in Toronto. He issued the following statement on Twitter on Tuesday evening:
Anyone who has attended a live Leafs game in Toronto knows first hand how good Mike is at what he does. I'm sure that Leafs Nation is happy to have him back and look forward to what we hope are many, many goal calls at Scotiabank Arena.
