Jonathan Quick is entering the final season of the 10-year contract he signed with the Kings in 2012. Quick is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and has nothing left to prove, but he did have a big decision to make regarding his future beyond this seaon. However, the 36-year-old goalie isn't thinking about retiring just yet.
Quick was drafted by the Kings 72nd overall in 2005 and was a key piece in leading them to Stanley Cup victory in 2012 and 2014. Last season, he helped the Kings to a playoff spot, which led to a first-round exit against the Oilers.
Over his past nine seasons in LA, for most of them, Quick has been faced with missing the playoffs entirely. The Kings have also not made it out of the first round since their 2014 victory. So maybe the final year of his contract with the team will provide different results.
In the 2021-2022 season, Quick averaged a .910 save percentage while winning 23 of 46 games played.
Although Quick has expressed that he doesn't want his NHL career to be over after this season, it's hard to say whether or not he'll still be with the Kings.
