The Leafs have been banged up all year, particularly on the blueline and even through all of the injuries, the Buds have amassed an impressive 21-7-6 record, good for 4th in the overall league standings with 48 points, just 1 point back of the Vegas Golden Knights, who have 49. The Leafs also have two games in hand.

The Leafs aren't the only team dealing with injuries. In fact, their opponent this evening, the St. Louis Blues, will be missing a pretty important piece, as they announced on Tuesday morning that they have assigned defenseman Torey Krug to LTIR with a lower-body injury that is expected to keep him out a minimum of six weeks.

The stop in St. Louis tonight will be just the first of 3 stops on a short road trip for the Leafs coming out of the holiday break, with games against Arizona on Thursday and Colorado on Saturday.

Krug has been a pretty effective weapon against the Leafs in his career, having amassed 19 points in 29 career games against the Buds.
