Some Concerns Already Arising About Ex-Maple Leafs Star Mitch Marner in Vegas

The Vegas Golden Knights have landed the player who was believed to be this summer's crowned jewel in Mitch Marner, but one Vegas reporter already has concerns.
Mitch Marner's tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs was certainly filled with its fair share of ups and downs, with most of the ups occurring during the regular season, and most of the downs during the playoffs, when the games matter most.
The echoes of the roar of the crowd screaming "SHOOOOOOT" during the Leafs' power play are still present at Scotiabank Arena and the fans are still wondering "what if..?", but the reality is that there's no going back and that Marner is now long gone.
While that may be true, and the Golden Knights received the better of the exchange, one Vegas reporter is already expressing his concerns over what may happen when Marner is on the ice. The big question from Sin Bin Vegas' Ken Boehlke is who is going to shoot the puck?
In the article linked below, Boehlke revealed some numbers from both last season and these most recent playoffs, which clearly show that the perceived top line of
Jack Eichel,
Mark Stone and Mitch Marner do not have a penchant for shooting the puck, which could lead to a whole lot of frustration in Sin City.
Boehlke's piece revealed that the shot projections for this coming season (26.9 shots per game) would put the Vegas Golden Knights in the 28th ranked range -- the same range being projected for the lowly San Jose Sharks.
Maple Leafs fans know all about Marner's affinity for holding onto the puck a little too long, and seeing his blind spin-o-rama passes being picked off by the opposition. That's Vegas' problem to deal with now.
Granted, there are going to be more than a few highlight reel moments featuring Mitch Marner in Vegas, but it's a consolation to Leafs Nation that some in Vegas are already noticing what types of problems they may run into with yet another pass-first star on the roster.
