Panthers forward and super-pest Brad Marchand made some borderline unbelievable comments about the Maple Leafs play following Game 2.

Brad Marchand has been a thorn in the side of the Leafs for his entire career, and when the Bruins imploded this season, Leafs Nation was thankful there would be no Marchand, David Pastrnak or Bruins in the playoffs. Unfortunately, Marchand sought a trade to the Panthers at the deadline to keep his playoff hopes alive.
Through two games, Marchand has done what he always does, tallying 3 points and being a pest, but following the Panthers' Game 2 defeat, the 36-year-old issued some surprisingly humble comments about the Leafs' playoff turnaround.
"They came ready to play this round. We see that."
Marchand then went on to credit Leafs GM Brad Treliving and head coach Craig Berube for revamping the roster and style of play and getting everyone to buy-in, particularly defensively.
"It seemed like every time we gave them the opportunity to get above us, they created something or capitalized on it. It shows how dangerous they are. It doesn't take much for them to score. We have to make sure we're pretty much perfect on defensive coverage. Their structure is very, very good right now, especially in the d-zone. We knew it was going to be a tough battle. We have our work cut out, they're playing really well."
While Game 2 could have been a retribution game for the Leafs following the injury to Anthony Stolarz, Berube was able to refocus the group and keep their eye on the task at hand.
As the series shifts to Florida, the Leafs will look to take a commanding 3-0 lead for the second series in a row, while the Panthers will attempt to use the last change to their advantage and get back into the series. Game 3 goes Friday night and you can bet that Marchand and the rest of the rat pack will be on their best, or worst, behaviour in front of the home crowd.
