Maple Leafs Considering Drastic Move Involving GM Brad Treliving

Sportsnet's Luke Fox revealed Tuesday afternoon, following the Maple Leafs' media day, that there may be more than one significant change to upper management, including one involving Brad Treliving.
Many expect the Leafs to move on from Brendan Shanahan after 11 years of the failed "Shanaplan", and just two playoff series victories, especially due to his expiring contract.
As the Leafs did last season, they will be holding a separate media availability with General Manager Brad Treliving, on a yet-to-be-determined date. In years past, Shanahan flanked his GM, but it seems unlikely he will do so this time around.
According to Luke Fox on 'The Real Kyper and Bourne' show on Tuesday, Treliving may not even get the opportunity to address the media one final time.
"Are we 100% sure Treliving is coming back? They haven't set a date yet for the management conference... From what I'm hearing they're still making decisions and there could be changes way up top.
I think for the most part, the performance was good. He's done a lot of good things. I think it's more so the whole team is under new ownership in Rogers that calls the shots and doesn't have to go to a board anymore and the fact Shanahan's contract is up.
If you're making changes top-down, I think it's a sense of everything is on the table. I absolutely believe he deserves another chance, but the sense I'm getting is there could be a lot of changes and it might go beyond just Shanahan."
While Fox, Nick Kypreos and Justin Bourne all agreed Treliving should be back, as many of Leafs Nation would agree, it realistically wouldn't come as a surprise to see MLSE make another ridiculous decision to try and speed up the track to winning that CEO Keith Pelley wants to put the team on.
Whatever the decision, we should find out over the next few days how things will fall. Should they move on from Treliving, however, it will be the first time the organization has followed through on their often empty promise of 'everything is on the table' and begins an off-season that will see significant changes throughout the organization -- not just with the roster or in the front office, but both simultaneously.
