Brad Treliving has addressed the media after rumours came about that the Golden Knights and Leafs were discussing a sign-and-trade regarding Mitch Marner.
During the second day of the NHL Entry Draft, one of the bigger pieces of information that was passed around was the rumour circulating that the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vegas Golden Knights were engaged in conversations surrounding a possible sign-and-trade involving Mitch Marner.
With rumours swirling, Leafs general manager Brad Treliving addressed them shortly after the draft concluded. While he didn't want to go into too much detail, he did say that their preference would be to get something out of Marner before he officially walks via free agency on July 1st.
David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period also mentioned - while unconfirmed - that Marner's contract could be in the range of a 4x$12M, which goes hand-in-hand with previous reports indicating that he wanted to go down a shorter-termed route.
