Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok unveils brand new nickname for Max Domi
The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 Saturday night and as they normally do following a win, they handed out the player of the game belt. Calle Jarnkrok was awarded the belt following last Wednesday's victory over the Buffalo Sabres which meant it was his turn to pass it on.
The moment Jarnkrok passed it off was captured in the latest "Leafs Blueprint" video and during the clip, he revealed a new nickname for one of his teammates. Jarnkrok passed the belt off to Max Domi or "Beauty" as he referred to, leading to the entire Leafs' locker room erupting in a chorus of claps and cheers.
It's a very unusual nickname to be given, largely because of Domi's smile, which features several missing teeth, but it also shows just how great of a teammate Domi is and how much everyone in that room appreciates him.
Domi was a Leaf far before he signed a 1-year, $3M deal this past off-season as we all know he grew up in the Leafs dressing room, hanging around his dad and fan favourite, Tie Domi. While he didn't get off to the greatest start in the blue and white, Domi has played far better of late and now has 8 goals and 34 points in 64 games.
