Craig Berube All But Confirms Maple Leafs' Opening Night Lineup

Ahead of their final two pre-season games, Leafs head coach Craig Berube made some interesting comments suggesting he has made his decision on a final roster.
The Maple Leafs wrapped up their annual Muskoka trip on Wednesday with an open practice for fans. It was there that the Leafs revealed their plans for 2023 first-round pick Easton Cowan as he was a regular participant in line rushes with Scott Laughton and Steven Lorentz.
Unfortunately, that means Nick Robertson will be starting the season in the press box alongside David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok -- unless one or more of them is traded.
Craig Berube Confirms What Many Suspected About the Leafs' Opening Night Lineup
While many already took the line rushes as confirmation of the Leafs' opening night lineup, following practice, Berube was asked if he planned to get his opening night roster into one of the final two pre-season games against the Detroit Red Wings.
"I always wait to see if there's somebody that maybe can't go, but I'd like to get our lineup in there for sure."
With the Leafs' opening night lineup seemingly confirmed by Berube, the only question that remains is who will be backing up Anthony Stolarz. Will the Leafs give Dennis Hildeby an opportunity? Or will they look to James Reimer or claim someone off waivers?
That is something Berube and Treliving will have to decide rather quickly with training camp ending on Sunday.
