Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock has announced he's ready to take a Pittsburgh Penguins approach to things. After relegating Auston Matthews to just second unit power play duty over the last two seasons, he's decided to unleash a possible beast. Babcock confirmed with reporters that he'll be loading up his first powerplay unit with Matthews, Mitch Marner, Nazem Kadri, John Tavares and Morgan Rielly. Last season Toronto was second in the league with a 24.9% success rate on the PP, while Pittsburgh was first featuring Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel on their first unit, proving there's no need to balance out power play units. "Look at Pittsburgh's power play," Matthews told reporters. "They do pretty well for themselves." According to Babcock, Tavares will play in front of the net while Rielly sits at the top of the umbrella with Marner on his right, Matthews on his left and Kadri down the middle.
