Nylander drops an awesome comment after being recognized as one of the top-3 Players of the Week
After being snubbed from the All-Star Game, twice to be more specific after Auston Matthews' injury, William Nylander was named the second star of the week. In four games, he registered 4 goals and 7 points.
Following the Leafs' optional skills skate yesterday, Nylander was asked about receiving the award to which he responded by saying, "It's great to get that recognition but all we got to do is win games. That doesn't really matter."
It's very clear, like the rest of the leadership group and "Core 4" of the Leafs that individual awards don't matter much to this team. All they want to do is win games and likely a round in the playoffs. The Leafs will have a full practice today, before taking on the Bruins tomorrow in their final game before heading into the All-Star break and bye week.
