Leafs announce star studded roster for pre season game against Montreal

On Friday, the Leafs sent a roster that included only 5 NHL regulars, all depth players, to Belleville and thoroughly trounced some of the Sens top stars. Nick Robertson was a standout in the game, potting 2 goals and adding an assist en route to a 6-3 victory. In doing so, he caught the eye of coach Sheldon Keefe.

Earlier today, we reported that Robertson had been added to the Leafs 2nd line at practice, replacing Denis Malgin. Now it appears he will get a shot on that line in a game situation. The Leafs will dress their entire top 6, save for John Tavares who is resting an oblique strain.

The Leafs will likely run lines similar to what we saw at practice today.

In net, Murray will start, being backed up by Samsonov. Samsonov got the full 60 minutes against the Sens on Friday, so expect the same for Murray against the Habs. Puck drop is at 7PM tonight!
