Rasmus Sandin made his triumphant return to Leafs practice on Sunday for the first time since signing his 2-year, $2.8M extension on Thursday, which carries a $1.4M AAV. He debuted at camp skating on the right side, forming a pair with veteran Jake Muzzin.

Despite the fact that Sandin skated with the main group on Sunday, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that Sandin will not play on Monday, which shouldn't come as a surprise, given the fact that he has missed the majority of training camp. Instead, Keefe revealed that Sandin would wait to make his preseason debut later this week.

The move is a wise one, as it will allow Sandin to get in some extra reps at practice this week and help get him back into playing shape. One thing to note as well is that Sandin had put an emphasis on putting on some weight this summer and did just that. Sandin revealed that he went from 178lbs to ~194lbs this summer. Hopefully the added strength will help with his durability as well.
