Justin Holl delivers one of the heaviest hits of the season, absolutely destroying Rasmus Asplund

For a defenseman who is 6'3 and 200 lbs, we don't often see Holl throw his weight around like he could if he really wanted to. Holl isn't afraid to take the body, as is evidenced by his 134 hits this year, but it's not often when we see him show up on the highlight reel for finishing his check and absolutely flattening the opposition.

Well, I don't know if Holl just woke up with a chip on his shoulder ahead of the Leafs' game against the Nashville Predators, or if he's just competing for a regular spot in the lineup, but on Sunday, he threw a hit so nasty, you'd think he was Scott Stevens.

During the 2nd period, Holl caught Rasmus Asplund with a puck in his feet and his head down and absolutely made him pay for it, drilling him hard into the boards in the neutral zone - a hit that Asplund's teammate Yakov Trenin didn't like too much.

Trenin came in to engage Holl and request a fight, but Holl simply disengaged and skated away - and as well he should have. His hit on Asplund was completely clean and there was really no need to fight, with his team up 2-0 in the game.
