No matter which team you cheer for or which players you like or dislike, no one wants to see a player collapse on or off the ice during a game. That scary type of incident happened on Saturday in Columbus, with the Leafs on the road to take on the Blue Jackets.

It all started with a collision behind the Leafs' net, when Sean Kuraly, who was battling for a puck behind the net with Auston Matthews, was hit hard by Jake McCabe, leaving him in immediate distress. After making it to the Blue Jackets bench and part-way down the tunnel, Kuraly could be seen slouched over against the wall. After this had occurred, the bench frantically waived for medical personnel to make their way across the ice and to the locker room immediately.

The initial update on Kuraly said that the panic to get him help was precautionary and that he was being assessed by medical staff at the arena. About an hour after the hit, the Blue Jackets public relations team released an update on where Kuraly stands. After receiving treatment at the arena, he was taken to the hospital, Grant Medical Center, for further evaluation.

The injury is being referred to as some sort of an abdominal injury, which checks out with how Kuraly was hunched over.

Kuraly has been putting together a nice season as he is the traditional shut down wine and after 35 games, he has scored six goals with five assists for 11 points along with 28 penalty minutes.

We all hope that he's okay and will have a speedy recovery.
